TOBE Gallery is the first step of a conceptual idea called, TOmas BEa project. The objective of TOBE is to be present, to be visible on the scene of contemporary photography. Their purpose with this new space in the field of contemporary photography and collage art in the city of Budapest is to seek a newer dialogue, a different point of view, with a different way of expressing and communicating photography as art.
Tomas Opitz graduated in Architecture in Caracas from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, at the same time his passion for photography has been getting stronger and stronger. Bea Puskás originally graduated in Geology, but her affinity and interest in Art motivated her to get even closer after finishing a postgraduate degree in Cultural Management at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design MOME in Budapest – Hungary. These antecedents have led them to launch a small gallery in October 2013 with the aim of presenting Ibero-American and Hungarian artists in whom the ambition for high-quality artistic expression is part of the idea of experimentation in their works.

Their purpose with this new space in the field of contemporary photography and collage art in the city of Budapest is to seek a newer dialogue, a different point of view, with a different way of expressing and communicating photography as art. In 2017 TOBE Gallery moved to a larger exhibition space, from that moment its international visibility increased substantially and the gallery program became much clearer. Bea & Tomas aim to put contemporary photography on a higher level, to give photography a real value. Value, which means that contemporary photography can be collectible and can be an enriching element with which people can live their day-to-day life in their inhabited spaces.
