Marco Bell is an internationally-awarded photographer and visual artist (MFA Photography, Parsons The New School for Design, New York, 2015) with a deep interest in socially engaged artistic practices. His multidisciplinary work (photography, video, 3D, installation) reflects on place, cultural identity, history and global politics. In 2004, during his first semester in journalism school, in Caracas, Venezuela, Bell was awarded with the reputable I Salón Universitario de Fotografía (Universidad Central de Venezuela, Caracas). After working several years as a cultural reporter, Bell exhibited his first solo show in 2013, at Taller de Fotografia Roberto Mata, Caracas, Venezuela. A few days after the opening, he was invited by the Ateneo de Caracas, one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the South American country, to show his work individually. Since then, his work has been exhibited in several galleries internationally (USA, Venezuela, Hungary, China, New Zealand, Mexico). He received a special honorable mention from the Camera Club New York Competition, juried by Charlotte Cotton in 2014. Bell currently resides in Miami, where he works as an art educator, editor for the New York Journal of Photography and a full-time architecture and fine art photographer.
